Eagle Peak Trail on Oct. 9 (Sat) - 21/09/04 06:39 PM
Well, George and I did this trail during the Labor Day weekend (I think it was), but I'd like to visit there once more before the season is over. It just was really nice place to visit, and I'd like to share with anyone who is willing to drive out, and hike a little (at the end).
And, I plan this trip 2 weekends after Xterra Championship because this trail is located above 7,500 ft... The trip has to take place before the bad weather.
Trail: Eagle Peak Trail
Duration: 1 Day
Difficulty: Moderate
Date: Oct 9, 2004 (Sat).
Location: Northeast of Sonora, Pinecrest and Strawberry off of Hwy 108
Trail Condition: It does require 4Lo for some places & about 20 degrees off camber at a couple places.
Vehicles: Any SUV... You can join even if you drive 2wd Xterra. We'll help you get up, so don't worry.
If you're looking for a trail run that is very challenging, this run is not it for you. If you want to put it into 4Hi/4Lo, enjoy a stress-free, great scenic trail, this is it. Both George and I have 32" tires and susp. lift, and we had a great time running this trail.
Trip Details:
Meeting Place: McDonald's at Santa Rita Exit off of I-580 in Pleasanton @ 7 am.
Lunch & Snack Shopping: Park N Save in Sonora @ 9:30 - 10:00 am
Trail head: 11:00 am
Sign me up!
