need tranny rebuilt - recommendations? - 19/10/04 01:17 PM

I tore up my tranny, I no longer have 1st gear.

Gotta get the the tranny rebuilt. I think I'm going to replace the clutch at the same time.

Can anyone recommend a place or person to bring it to? I'm obviously looking for a deal - cause I'm poor - but I also need the job done right.

Uh, he posted one in Drivetrain, then one here, in his local club, to find information from the locals about a tranny shop.

There was a 3rd somewhere else, guess he deleted it. Or my eyes are playing tricks on me. Anyways, my bad, I'll shut up.

Thanks XoC, I did post in drivetrain looking for technical help and I did post here looking for local recommendations. I won't go to Maxwell Nissan... actually, I don't generally trust dealerships to work on my vehicles.

I also posted a third thread somewhere else asking about clutches (after doing a search and reading old posts).

And no, I didn't delete any posts.

superjens: thanks for the warm response [Finger] you really know how to cheer up someone with a brok ass truck ...

Ok, I'm sorry too... laugh

Anyway, sounds like no one has had any good tranny work done locally... everyone wish me luck *crosses fingers*

Sorry... I guess either nobody knows (I don't....) or they just aren't on this week.

Good luck.
