Good stuff..
What a great line, boy would I have loved to see the face of the controller:
"Yes, I have, actually, in 1944. In another type of Boeing, but just to drop something off. I didn't stop."

I can attest stuff like this goes on every day... I'm out on different airfields a lot, and always have a tower radio in the cab to get around... Makes for some good times. ESPECIALLY when somebody gets lost, or doesn't know how to use the radio properly!

Every once in a awhile a pilot will get on the ATC freq and give the "Ladies and gentlemen this is you Captain speaking, we're cruising along at thirty-five thousand feet...."
The longer the pilot goes on, the more shit he gets from the other guys on frequency.

Things like this are why I like to fly United (at least their planes that have audio entertainment) because I can listen to the ATC chatter.
