Roof Rack Bug Guts

Roof Rack Bug Guts - 04/12/01 10:16 AM

OK, being an owner of a Yakima Loadwarrior, I am finding that the wind deflecter attracts an aweful lot of bugs. I get bugs off the rest of the truck with relative ease, but these critters do not come off that deflecter. They tend to just smear.

Does anyone have a good solution or ointment to take care of these bug guts?

I sometimes have the same problem, just unscrew the delfector, and use a sponge on it. That should take up all of the bug guts/smears. It only takes a minute or two.
I do this whenever I wash my X anyway, just so I can wash and wax the area underneath the deflector.

Let the water soak on them for a few seconds, maybe hold the sponge in the same place for 30 seconds then wipe the bugs off.
