Sorry about your loss. But, on the bright side, you now have easy access to your wiper-fluid resevoir wink

Got any plans for that Left rear taillight assembly? I'll take it off of you for a penance if not. Located in Boringham, AL. Will drive...

Gee, the vultures are already circling by the third post, geez. That X is far from totalled.

I'm not sure about any parts because I dont know yet if the truck will be fixed or totaled. (What do you people think).

To make a long story short the Z71 came around a curve too fast driving half in my lane. He locked up the brakes and his back end slid more into my lane and "BAM" hit his left rear bed. The X did manage to cripple the Z though. We knocked the rear axle completly off his truck.

A note to all the "stock bumpers are plastic and wimpy" folks, that bumper held up well, doinf just what it's designed to do.

It's not that far from totaled, I'd guess $10-12K to fix it.

Too funny! Yeah, rotate them tires, and you needed an alignment before the wreck, now you really need one.

Glad no one was hurt. Did both airbags go off? Cant' tell. I see the passenger's side.

The Xterra does not have a system to detect whether someone is occupying each seat or not so both go off regardless of how many passengers. The king cab frontiers do have a switch for the passenger side.

That and you can clearly see both bags in the picture.

And you are a Nissan technician?

Yeah, I'm a technician. But since I remember most things on a lot of vehicles, I don't know everything on one vehicle.

Pardon my ignorance.

Replacing your blinkers should be a snap now.

Re: Xterra meets Z71 - 04/05/04 07:05 AM

what yr. was the Z71? if its a 99 or newer, it has ABS and the brakes couldn't have locked up...that could have been part of why they didn't stop in time. My abs kicked in during Feb on my Z and caused me to slide into a tree when i was trying to turn into my driveway in the snow...it sucked...sorry about your loss!

Does anybody have any pictures of an ARBed xterra that has been in a wreck? I dont recall seeing any before and Im kindof curious of how my bumper would stand up/what damage it would cause.

Once you get it back take it to another shop and let them take a look at it. Make sure its as perfect as it can be, you'll regret it later if not.
