Calmini bumper installed - 08/10/02 04:54 PM

Got it today and installed today. I couldn't wait.

Here is the full set of pictures I took

Was fairly staright forward and easy despite the fact it did not come with any directions. After losing my cool several times I finally figured it out and here she is!!

Very nice. smile

By the way, what kind of off-roading do you do? If you do a lot of rock crawling, you probably want to remove your tow hook.

That hook got in my way sooo many times... frown I origianlly thought it might be helpful to keep it, but ...Wrong..

(Pic taken prior to receiving the skid plate.)

The bumper looks great. Nice looking ride (except for the lack of dirt!). I should have the 2002 in a couple of weeks, and was wondering what probs you had on the install. Sounds like you might have been stumped for a few minutes...
--and I "removed" my towhook last month. On a big rock. SNAP! With a now bent mounting area. [Uh Oh !]
Nice pics..

Very nice. The Calmini Bumper is really growing on me. I only wish it had more mounting points for lights and the brushguard wrap around thingie that ARB/TJM has.

Um... [Freak]

1. Remove old bumper.
2. Bolt CALMINI bumper on.
3. Bolt skid plate on.

Is the skid plate included with the bumper? It is very sleek looking....and useful!

Schweeeeet Paul. Is that the street you live on? My wife says "Well doesn't he suck!" I love those trees, we don't have any neighborhoods like that here in the desert.

Congrats on the bumper, looks great.

Yes, it is.
In fact, the skid plate reinforces the winch bumper very well… Basically, the bumper needs the skid plate to be …(what would be the good word to describe…?) …complete?

Sorry for not having a X but I have a XJ with a bumper that looks some what like the Calmini. I have built a few of these for cherokees. And would like to expand to a X. Hope the Attachement file works. Any one interested in trying??? I have a spare one in my garage if anyone is close to Aurora. web page

I live in Aurora, and I own the board, but I have an ARB installed. I wouldn't mind taking a look though.

Thanks thanks everyone. Yes install was easy just had trouble getting the rear skid plate mounts mounted. Yes Marshall that pic is from my driveway in Mt. Zion. Very quiet area woo hoo. Now time to get it dirty this weekend. It is actually dirty in the pic you just can't tell. I can't remember the last time I washed it.

BTW thanks for the idea about the tow hook. It does appear to be in the way now and with mounting points for shackles on the bumper it is not really needed.

Awesome, Paul.

That thing looks really sweet on a black X. Get you some sliders and black rims, and you'd have Vader Jr. smile
