Good Deal on a Cobra 75?

Good Deal on a Cobra 75? - 07/05/02 11:41 AM

The old Cherokee handheld with its power adapter wire ziptied to the side, held in place with a cheap cell phone holder is not going to cut it any more. Time for a better CB! I have entertained the idea of getting a cobra 75 and am ready to buy and hopefully have it installed in time for OBXIII.

Lowest price I have found so far is $89.50 at Valcoelectronics.com (thanks to gearhead1972) Searching dose help! Anywhere cheaper?

Valco helped me immensely. They walked me through everything I needed, and the pricing was really good. I recommend them!

btw - I wasn't able to find anything cheaper (other than used stuff on eBay)

Hope this helps!

guess im one of the few running a raggedy old (real old) cobra 25....maybe its time to upgrade, huh? maybe not...still works. also, any of you folks with the 75 have a peak and tune? if so, what did it cost? im thinking it might be a little pricier since its so small.....

Keep your 25. Or go to a Galaxy or other quality unit. I've got a 25 peaked and tuned to 14 watts or so, but not running a linear.

As far as I know, you can't do anything to a 75 so I wouldn't have one. I actually like having the unit and the mic seperately. Lets me run my good power mic (Uniden or Astatic) and get much better talk performance.

Peak and tune? Huh?

My 75 works great, have had it for a year now. Use it with a Firestick II/non-groundplane antenna. Like using the NOAH weather station on it especially.

Wow that was quick! I checked the UPS tracking # when I woke up at 4pm and it said it had been deliverd, checked the porch and found my new toy!
