Hey Ken, I will be putting in an HKS intake filter sometime this week. And my question is- there is a sensor on the front side of the air box do you know what this sensor is ? air intake temp? 2000 se

That's exactly what it is. It needs to be somewhere in front of the air filter sensing the air that will eventually pass through the filter. You want cool, dense outside air, not hot engine compartment stuff. I'm not familiar with the HKS intake but I hope it pulls in air from outside as the stock intake tries to.
