3M two sided tape for air dam protection....

alright i searched but found nothing, so im gonna ask im looking for the clear 3M tape that is applied to the top of the X to protect it from the scraping of the air dam. I recently replaced my 01 with an 02/thormod (courtesy of kandakarlson) and now require either the original nissan type or a close comparison/comprimise!

i tried my dealership, no luck for some reason... i found it at xterraparts.com but unfortunately although the tape costs only 19.95US after shipping and everything it"ll cost me 78.00(US) add the exchange and a piece of tape will end up costing me way too f***'in much (scuse my french, im from a bilingual country)

anyone know of a comprimise, walmart? costco? pep boys type store? krafts? whatever "throw me a bone"

Home improvement stores are a good bet. Maybe a craft store?

Home Depot...or Loews. They are fantasyland full of things like this.

well i went back to the dealer and they were able to find part of what i wanted, what i mean by that is that there are three pieces of tape on the 02 model, i was able to order the middle piece but not the two sides so i got the majority of it maybe itll be enough to keep me happy.... anywayz thats all she wrote for the time being - i ll keep you posted

I would suggest going to a sign supply store that sells rolls of lettering vinyl, tell them what you are trying to do and they may have some scrap that they'll sell to you cheap.

Anything that you find at a home improvement store will break down very quickly and probably won't have enough mil thickness to do you any good.

For you or others.... they sell a very thick clear tape at Ski/ Snowboard shops in about 4-5" width. It's applied to the top of skis and boards to protect them from scratches from the sharp edges of another ski. I think one of the brand names is 'Ski Saver'. It is made for all weather use and is very substantial.
