It rained the day we were there at goneMOAB, and we decided against it.

If you have never seen it, getting down to it is an adventure all by itself. Once at the bottom, there is only one way up.

Start here for a good tour of it done by IFS trucks (all locked though as far as I know)...

I would think lockers would be a liability on that obstacle. Seems like you would be likely do flip if you climb the side to high like this jackass.

Hike that part of the trail in the rain and then talk. The pictures don't do it justice, they always come out looking flat, but when you are there you really get an idea of the steapness of it and then the bumps that cause vehicles to lift their front ends way high causing spetacular rollovers.

Lockers would be about your only way up since an IFS truck will lift a front at the top, which leaves you with one tire trying to push 4000 pounds up a 35 degree slope.

BTW, I know that jackass (and the whole Trailseekers group), so be nice.

See you at goneMOAB, so you can show us how to do it. wink

Damn... just watching that Yukon made me a bit queasy... looks like it would be quite a bit easier for the smaller trucks... call me a weenie, but I'll let someone else go first... [Finger]

See the thread in the GOX fourm...

Lockers are not necessary and with the correct line you do not lift a tire.. laugh

I'm a weenie. laugh
DesertRat, Orange4Ska and I had all decided it wouldn't be a bad drive at goneMOAB, but the rain came in and changed our plans.

Which is it? Not a bad drive or lockers only? Make up your mind.

I looked at the friggin escalator again this year and I just don't think it is doable without destroying your passenger side fender. I did do some double bump obstacle that carlton that couldn't be done. It was a blast of a trail this year actually having time to look at stuff and build up the balls to try it.

I think lockers would be a benefit and not a liability as Ivan stated for any truck, as I have seen plenty get airborn over the last bump. All were short wheelbase though. Lockers always come in handy regardless of the trail.

That older Black Isuzu Rodeo's pretty damn cool; the newer one's ok - but that older one's something. that guy really put a lot of money in that thing.
