Anyone seen THIS?
...perhaps legitimate?
Does the filter look like any of the others on the market? (aside from being round, duh.)

I don't know why there are two tubes. The short one does look like it would replace the intake tube on the V6. But I don't see the holes for the hoses that attatch to the intake tube.

The filter itself is an oiled filter for sure, probably made by K&N or annother manufaturer and sold to Nismo to be used in the kit.

Perhaps one tube before & one after the MAF mounting; don't know if the stock intake tubing is split around the MAF mounting area or not...haven't been under there in a while....

They must be smoking crack if they think I will sped that kind of $$ for basicily no performance increase and an increase in maintenance time.

nismo japan's website actually sells K&N filter oil to use for their r-spec filters, i don't think it's an earth-shattering discovery that they utilize K&N as does many other aftermarket intake manufacturers. it's no wonder, their filters do work well and have been used in all kinds of motorsports for years.
i saw this kit today too and wondered if it wasn't real, who they got to print that box for them because it wouldn't exactly be easy to get that onto the side of a corrugated box without some major trouble, and it doesn't really look drawn-on with a sharpie...

Well if you look thru the recent closed auctions you'll see an intake kit for the SE-R that has the same picture as the one for the Xterra,so they are probably just using a generic photo...Plus it's other auctions sells nothing but Nissan related items so it's probably safe to assume it's a dealer thats selling these items...

It doesn't look all that bad but the price is a bit too high...

reusing pics would make me a little suspicious. i just ordered an fipk 2 because i didn't know the nismos were coming out so soon. would have been nice to have that choice...although i paid a bit less for my k&n.

Anyone figure out why there are 2 tubes? Pics on install? Found out that www.xterraparts.com is selling them.

Re: Ebay Nismo intake - 02/03/04 06:50 PM

It is set up as a cold air system. The short tube is the run from the back of the MAF to the throttle body. The long run with the filter is from the front of the MAF to down near street level. Now, before worrying about water injestion it is desinged with a bypass valve of sorts (the flange looking thing, on the long tube just before where it bolts to the MAF) that lets water out in the event of the filter getting immersed and sucking water in. AEM has a similar feature on thier intakes or you can add thier bypass to others. Hope that helps.
