Your best bet is to get an an alarm w/ remote start. This way you elimnate the OEM key fob entirely. The stock alarm isn't all that great to begin with.

I would suggest any remote start from Directed Electronics (makers of Viper, Clifford alarms). I think they can tie it into your factory remote where you press the "lock" button 3 times and it starts up.

I have a Code Alarm on my truck. Hooked into the factory system, works great.

I wasn't too happy with a Viper I had in my old car. Range sucked and remote was super cheap. My roommate now has a Compustar and it's a much nicer alarm/starter with a killer range. The remote is BIG, but it's definitely a lot better quality. Personally I'm never getting DEI again, and if I were to get something like this it would be the Compustar.

cool thanks guys... Really looking into the code alarm only if it works with the OEM remotes. Does anyone know if the Immobilzer will affect the remote start?

I have a Clifford alarm with remote and it is great. They use the valet key for the remote start which is installed within the vehicle. Press the * key twice on the remote to start and twice to shut the vehicle off. You don't need the FOB at all. It was expensive because it was the top of the line, but it was worth it. [ThumbsUp]

Ya the clifford system looks nice... I still would like to use the Nissan remote (stock look). When i choose a remote start is this something i should get installed at the dealer or can anyone reccomend a good place. I just bought terra and i'm worried abou t someone screwing up the wiring!

Go for a full alarm, which ever model you decide. I installed a Viper 791XV. I turned off the remote start during install since it is a manual tranny and as I often leave it in gear, I didn't want to remote start it, forgetting it was in gear and have it drive away on its own! laugh
There are some nice accessories for it if you are so inclined.
