hey, everyone,
i was just hoping to get everyone's opinion on tires. most of my driving is on the road, with a decent amount of highway driving. i deliver pizza, so the things have got to be good road tires. but i also enjoy moderate off-roading, and i do it pretty often. also, i'm a college student and i don't have wads of cash. so, given these conditions, what would you guys recomend?

thanks a lot, and i'm sorry if someone has already posted a similar question.

Andy,

I good all around on/offroad tire would be the BFG All-Terrains. They have good on road manners and are quite capable offroad too.

Andy,

Since you live in Flagstaff, I'd recommend either Dunlop Radial Rover RV or BFG AT TA KO. They are $113 and $115 accordingly (size: 31x10.50R15) from your local discount tire, which is located right off of Milton...near Safeway.

(I'm too lazy to search and find out what wheel size 2000 XE has, but made the assumption that it's 15"....is it 16"? [Freak] )

I know they have even less expensive choices, but assuming your off-roading around Flagstaff would involve mud more than rock crawling (unless you often go down to Sedona or even South...). I would not go for MT tires; AT tires would do better in snow condition and more comfortable.

So, if you can afford as a college student, Dunlop or BFG would be a good choice (as my opinion, of course).

The Rover RT would be a better choice if you want off-road performance, equal to or a tad better than the BFG all around.

How long you been going to NAU? I graduated from there in 99.

As for tires in Flag, I ran with ATs on my Pathfinder all year round. They were more than capable for road driving during all seasons (even the heavy snow and ice) in Flag, and were just fine with all the places we went wheelin' up there during school.

BTW - Where do you go wheelin in Flag? You ever hit the cinder pits, the bogs by Oak Creek Canyon, go out by A-1 Mountain or the rocks in Sedona?
