He was a good actor.

Besides his more well known movies, he was in a pretty good movie from the 70's called "Sorcerer".

He also played the mob boss in a good Gary Oldman film from the 90's called "Romeo is Bleeding".

Holy crap, he was 75? Wow. I'm old. Burt Reynolds is 72 today...

I liked him in Jaws. Then years back I saw an episode or two of him in that lame-ass show about a submarine with a talking dolphin. That killed him as an actor for me. Even Jaws is tainted now.

I couldn't help seeing All That Jazz since the theater where I worked was playing it. If nothing else, it's memorable for what IMO is a pretty funny line.

Roy Scheider's character has refused yet again to select either of two female dancers who of course are pissed at the outcome. As they make their way out, one says, "F*** him, he never picks me."

The other replies, "Honey, I did f*** him and he never picks me either."

I saw All That Jazz on cable when I was about eleven. It scared the living shit out of me. I thought it would be cool because it had the guy from Blue Thunder, but it wasn't. That scene where he's wandering the halls of the institution and rubs his head against the wall and leaves a blood trail? That image is still stuck in my head.
