Hats off to Discount Tire. Some time ago, they took a nail out of one of my tires and repaired the hole. Unfortunately, they damaged my wheel (2002 SE Charcoal) when replacing the tire. I didn't notice until the next day when I washed my truck. The store where it happened is 40 miles from home so I went to the closest one and asked for the manager. He looked at the rim and at my paperwork and said, "We'll replace it." And they did, with a brand-new factory rim, no questions asked. Good to see a place of business take responsibility for a mistake and resolve it fairly without a lot of BS or hassle. ![[ThumbsUp]](graemlins/thumbsup.gif)

I have also had only good experiences with them, and usually they are the same or cheaper than anywhere else. (mounting and balancing is included in their price)

Higher price? They just set me up with a wheel and tire package for less than 4wheel parts. and didn't want to charge another $150.00 for road hazard and lugs/caps. Discount tire has gotten my money for years! and they are local. They beat 4wheel parts wheels by a good chunk. I was looking at a set of Xtreme Alloys I think they were $90.00 a wheels and Discount did it for $60.00 a wheel. Makes me happy.

Yeah, I almost always buy from Discount and have never found lower prices in local tire stores. Always get the best price and the best service there, and their $10 (I think) Road Hazard Warranty kicks ass! I've gotten three brand new tires out of them! I also like them because the guys there think my X is sexy!

Been using them since about 1982 when I went to California and discovered them (They weren't yet in Texas but soon came to us). Have always received great service and they freely replace any tire with even a hint of possible manufacturing defect.
On the other hand...I went this past Saturday morning and waited about two hours to have a slow leak repaired on a new vehicle....They charged me $15 to repair a hole/leak caused by a finishing nail. Said the $15 would be refunded at next tire purchase.
All in all a good deal I guess....The guys were very friendly/professional (early morning brings that) and took the most of care with the expensive wheel/tire. I was sure my wheel would be scratched/damaged but it was not.
I have always been favorable to their road hazard warranty and life time balancing...That's a deal for everyone except them but it keeps us going back for more.

Plus, if you destroy tires as fast as I do it's sure nice to have that road hazard warranty from a company that you can drive to for a replacement! That said, I may very well buy my next set of tires from the Rack, but it just depends on how many dollars savings it comes out to.

NOBODY beats Tire Rack.[/b] Not true. By the time you pay for shipping, mounting, balancing, etc, there's lots of places that can beat their prices on certain tires. A few deals they have are excellent. Always shop around, then you'll always get a good deal.

Agreed. Another vote for Discount Tire.
Too bad the nearest store is 3 hours away. The put my Scorpions on my X, swapped in the DR rims, balanced and road hazard all for slightly over $500. Money well spent.

I have nothing against DT... I went there before I found Tire Rack... but I love the Rack.
1) Selection is awesome - instead of choosing from 2 or 3 tires that will fit my vehicles I can look at 20 or 30, plus read customer reviews etc etc 2) Price, even with shipping, installation etc is incredible 3) I can imagine that a "road hazard" replacement might be a PITA or impossible with them... but so far it just hasn't been an issue for me... if I have a problem, I either plug the tire, or pull the wheel and bring it in to any tire store for a $5 patch. (this might be more difficult for those who don't have a shop jack, air tools, and a spare vehicle)
