I've defininetly thought about it. Wish we could import the 4 banger diesel from South America easily.

I've wanted to make my own BioDiesel for awhile.

If anyone could find the right size engine, let me know. No joking aside.

There really aren't any good candidates for such a swap. The diesels available in the US are either too big/heavy (full-size truck applications), too puny, or too new.

Has anyone heard about the hydrocarbon conversion kit. Apparently there is a book you can buy that shows how to make a vessel that you fill with water and through an electrical charge (12v) seperates the hydrocarbon from the water molecules. It is then fed to the intake. It is supposed to double the MPG.

This is bunk. I think the Mythbusters even did it once.

The thing you are talking about seperates the hydrogen and oxygen from the water. However it takes as much energy to split the water as is gained from burning the mixture and this is why it doesn't work for vehicles at this time.

I prefer to keep a witchdoctor in my passenger seat. His voodoo increases MPG by 3X.

Back to the original topic, I really wish Nissan would put a diesel in their X/Frontier line. I'd be in line to buy it... Why we can't find a small or even 1/2 ton truck with a diesel really drives me nuts. I don't want to get a 2500, but would prefer diesel.
