Hi, im 16 and have a 2001 X SE. Right now it is bare stock. I was wondering if a 1998-2000 Frontier bumper would fit my 2001 X? It looks like it would, and would the grill assembly fit to? And would it look good? ANy Pics out there?

Not without modification, or if you took the Frontier fenders too.

Is this because you need a new bumper/grille assembly or is this just for the sake of doing it?

I want to do it because i think the chrome would look pretty amazing on it.

The chrome 98-99 Frontier bumper should bolt right up on a 00-01 X as far as I know. I have seen a pic of it done before somewhere but can't remember where.

Frontiers have a sheetmetal strip under the grill between the bumper and the grill. It extends around, and the fender extension under the turn signals are a different length between Xterra and Frontier fenders.

I think the Xterra grill substitutes more plastic in where the sheetmetal strip is on the Frontier, but I still think you'd end up with a good gap between the bumper and the grille.
