Wheeler Lake is just south of Breckenridge, nice trail with a couple fun obstacles. Great day, despite Aaron's fan belt mishap before we got started, but hey, that's a part of the day too, right? Here was our first, "OH shite!" moment (a couple more followed later ) Ryan was actually stopped here and meant to crawl out of the vehicle Steve: Allen: Aaron: The Rest Here

Looks like a great time!
So what sprung a leak in the back of the red pathfinder? (pic DSC01321)

Very cool! Thought it a little funny, though, that with all the mods on the so-called "PhoeniX", that it would still have the stock bumper!

Awesome truck and pictures! I notice that the way the hi-lift is mounted looks the same as how mine was set up. The weight of the jack not being firmly set on the carrier eventually caused the metal of the top brace to bend on mine. Here\'s the write-up. I moved the bolt (at the green pointer line) to the top of the jack base, which brought the jack to settle flat on the carrier. By doing that, it also secured the jack tighter to the carrier. The picture looks a little painful without any rear armor underneath. Really nice truck and picture! Oh, I already said that, huh.

Thanks As for the jack, yeah it's annoying, and it worries me on occasion. The other thing I have thought of was to add some washers to the bolt to in essence make the platform that the jack base is sitting on high enough to not have that upper brace bend. (I clicked on your link and all I got was a photo, no write up...) Thanks again for the compliments, it's always a nice ego boost, but I am running a full set of Shrock skids under there, and waiting on the diff skid from Calmini to finish off my armor needs...except a replacement front bumper from Shrock, but I don't have the cash to order it quite yet

Clicky. The extra washers may raise the jack up a bit too high so that the upper knobby bolt may not line up when going through the holes in the hi-lift to screw into the carrier. But I may be wrong. Yeah, diff skid, that's the one.

Coolio, thanks for the link! As for the washers lifting the hi lift too high, that won't be an issue as it currently sits a little low without the washers, hence why it's not sitting on the bolt currently

Wheeler lake's an awesome trail. One of my favorites ![[ThumbsUp]](graemlins/thumbsup.gif) Here I am being recovered- Coming down, I stepped the PS front tire up onto a boulder. I tapped the brake, the rock rolled over (with tire on top) and threw the truck to the side. You can see the rock behind the front DS tire now, and where it was when it began to roll. (Brown dirt spot behind DS rear..) Stoopid moveable terrain.. Days like this, (119* on my patio) I'd like nothing more than to be at Wheeler lake, or taking a run at the wall. I've gotta' get to Colorado soon.. ![[Smoking]](graemlins/smokin.gif)

Dan, We'll head up Blanca sometime.....
Curt, are you sure you don't want to do it again?
I've got some friend doing Holy Cross in a few weeks, maybe I'll take the X up and see if I can polish some more steel on the underside of the frame.
Todd
PS and I thought 105 here is Colorado was hot.........

I am looking at doing Holy Cross on the 29th.
I'm still not sure yet If I am going, but I sure would like to try anyway. Not sure about getting across French Creek.
No I don't want to try Blanca again, sorry. Like I said that trail is the only one so far that has put a sour taste in my mouth.
My Xterra is sagging in the butt, plus it is all stock still, But atleast it is not my DD anymore.

Dan, anytime you want to come out here you can either sleep on the couch, or we can reserve the "guest suite" at our apt complex for $50/night (nice digs for that cheap)

An most honorable offer, thank you very much . I'm dyin' now cause a few buddies locally are headed to Ouray early August ![[ThumbsUp]](graemlins/thumbsup.gif) . I'd love to go but Jess'll be outta' town in VA, and I have to hold down the fort . It does look good for the week before GONE next year though. We'll prolly have a cabin at Ridgway KOA, or hit you up for the "guest quarters".
