Some questions for owners of BFG A/T 32x11.50 tires on 15x7" rims:

I just purchased a set of Desert Runners but haven't put any tires on them yet. I am seriously thinking about the BFG A/T 32x11.50 tires. Some questions for ya:

How do you like that size of a tire?

Anyone risked airing down?

Do you have any sort of lift?
(I guess I'm looking for those with just a PML as thats the plan for mine...for now...)

How many km's/miles do you have on them?

Any unusual wear up to this point?

I've seen a few other guys running 11.50 tires on 7" rims but haven't heard any good/bad about high mileage on that kind of setup. The tire shop has given situations why the 11.50 tire shouldn't go on a 7" rim, but I still would like to try it out instead of a 31x10.50 (which I've had before, and liked, but would like the extra clearance of 32's). I'm going to be slapping on the PML as well so from what I've read, that setup should fit, correct? If you wouldn't mind lending some tidbits of info on whether or not I should go for it, if you would/wouldn't run that setup again...etc that would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot!
Cheers! [drink]

PS-for what its worth, these are going on a 2002

It's a great tire...never any problems...it is about the best there is for daily driving AND off-roading.

You should also consider what type of terrain you will be wheelin', how often, how many street miles you drive, etc;

I am picking up my new set this weekend. I will be running 31x10.50 on 15x8's with 3.75 backspace. Some rubbing due to the offset...you shouldn't have a problem though.

that's actually a similar issue to what the 05s have.

alot of us have gone to a 285/75R16 BFG AT

which is ~33x11.5 tire. and the stock rims are 7" while BFG asks for 7.5-9"

you might find it alittle harder to balance, and they might not wear as well. if you do the chalk test to figure out the optimal pressure in your tires, it's alittle more difficult.

there's not really a problem, you'll be less likely to scratch up your wheels, since they'll be "in" alittle more. just be aware of the issues and you'll be fine.

Yeah, thats what I've heard. Plunking down $950 on a brand new set of tires, I don't really feel like wearing them down abnormally. Thats why I'm curious about what people have experienced long term. I've read lots of guys with +/-5000 miles saying all's great but I would like to know if anyone has been running this setup for 30-40-50,000 miles, if its possible to run them that long. The 31's ran great that I had before so who knows...
Keep in the input comin'.... laugh

I run them on DR's, but haven't had them long enough to comment on the mileage (maybe 5K so far?). I also have a 3 inch susp. lift, so can't help you there either. But, the tires are fanatastic and ride great. No problem with balance or anything... they ride smooth as buttah! I've aired them down to about 16 lbs on the trail with no problem. Don't see much point in going any lower than that. I run 32 - 34 lbs on the street with them.

I run the 32x11.5x15 BFG AT/KO tires and have nothing bad to say about them.

Great choice!!

EDIT: I have around 40,000 miles on them and they are about bald. But I use the crap out of them too, so they have lasted longer than I expected them to.

Well, 64,000kms isn't all that bad...
It looks like that will probably be the setup I will end up going with. I just wanted some input from some of you guys. Thanks a lot. [drink]

PS. Nice looking rig, Chuck [ThumbsUp]
