I didn't really know what I was doing, but I went ahead anyway and installed myself a new deck. I hooked my iPod up to it and everything works great except that at night my dash board blinds me because the instructions for installing the stereo did not say what to do with the wire for the dimmer switch. The new deck doesn't have a wire with which to attach the dimmer wire to so I am at a loss. If anyone could let me know what to do, that would be great, thanks.

what problem do you have?

do you mean the face of the new radio is too bright at night?

or does the dimmer switch not work anymore?

if the new radio does'nt have a wire to attatch to the dimmer wire, then just tape the end of the wire so it does'nt short and everything will work normally in the vehicle.

i have a rockford fosgate x8350 and i just used the harness it came with. my problem is that when i turn the headlights on, the speedo and stuff are full brightness and turning the dimmer switch does nothing. the wire for the dimmer that came out of the old h/u is just floating around back there, cause there is nowhere to attach it to the new harness.
