i have a 2000 X and for some reason the air conditioner has been acting up! it will only work on level 4 and will not put out any on 1,2, or 3! has anyone had this problem before or know anything about it!

I think I remember reading about this a while back. Did you do a search? It is somewhere on here (in Stereo, Communications and Electrical I think).

there is a resistor pack inside on the blower unit,that controls the fan speeds and it's not real expensive and it's easy to replace.I have never replaced it on my x but I have changed several in the past including my Mazda pu,each manufacturer has it's own name for it,but I'll bet thats all it is,check at your dealer.

its your blower resistor. the part can be purchased for approx 25 bucks. if you turn off your recirculate (the green button to the left of the ac button) and put it on 1-3, it usually will work as a vent, so its speed dependent.
