My airbag light just started blinking for no appearent reason. Any ideas?

To get the code for what it's blinking about, open the driver's door, turn the ignition switch to ON, then within the next 7 seconds press the button/switch on the door jamb at least 5 times. The airbag light will start flashing a pattern of 7 seconds on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, then a number of half-second flashes, then 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, more half-second flashes (same as before if there's just one code) etc. Note them and post back.

its been awile, but here are the results of the test you advised me to do.
open door

igniton on

pressed door jamb button 5 times

airbag light lit up once for 2 seconds or so,

then was followed by 8 quick (not real quick) flashes, and then repeats

I started the truck and it still blinks once every second or so.

Is there a way to find out what this code means?

I had my airbag light on, and when I took it to the dealer, they told me it was a seatbelt problem; They ordered a new seatbelt harness and it cost me a whopping $50 co-pay for extended warrantee work.

There are a few things I dont F@#$ with and the airbag is one of em. The way I look at it: it costs too much to have it reset if I screw it up by messing with the system AND you loose an important safety feature...

I pulled my fuse on the air bag so to go wheeling, did not want any bumps into a tree to set it off. Put the fuse back in and the light will not go out, any thoughts?

I had this happen on day 1 of owning mine...turns out there's a clasp under the drivers seat that goes to the airbag that came undone when I moved the seat....try that...

you have been driving around for 10 months with the airbag light flashing?
