OK, since my ARB signal lights hadn't worked in over a year, I set out to find some different lights that would fit. After many internet searches and searching just about every truck stop on the West Coast in the past 4 months I realized that there just aren't any. Well, I had to go into a Freightliner dealer for a truck repair and ran accross some that were the right height, but not as wide and not quite the same shape. They are completely sealed LED units so they should last awhile as long as I don't run them into any trees.

Anyway, I made some aluminum adapter plates to fit in the ARB openings, drilled them, and installed nut rivets in them. Turned out pretty good I think. They could be painted to match, but I decided to leave them natural. The camera exaggerates the area around the light...they actually look almost like they belong and the aluminum doesn't stand out that much at all. I think it was a successful project. Total cost for the retrofit is about $25. The lights themselves are $9 each plus a few screws, nut rivets, aluminum, wire, etc. I'll include a link to the company that makes them; model # is M20332Y.

BTW, since LED's don't get hot, these can be wired as markers instead of signal lights, which is what I did. I left the wires for the signals though in case I change my mind.
