Does anyone know who makes a multiple CD/AM/FM player that fits in the double din of the Xterra? I have an XE with the CD tape combo and have no use for the tape player but would really love to stuff a bunch of CD's in and go for six hours without having to change them. Price under $500 if possible.

Good question. I'm looking for the same thing - although, I haven't found anything like it yet.

The Alpine products do look pretty sweet though!

Nissan offers 2 different models, double and single. The single DIN unit is on sale at xterraparts.com. You could add it below a single DIN head unit.

I've looked and am still looking. I'll have a better chance of sitting down and having a beer with big foot before I find an in-dash cd changer for this thing.

What's wrong with the Nissan model that's on sale for half price ? $199, and another $199 will buy you the 6-disc changer and a nice head unit that doesn't suck.

Blaupunkt makes one too.

There are lots of in-dash changers on the market now, but only the Nissan one costs less than $500.

Pioneer makes one in their Elite line, Nakamichi makes one, Eclipse makes one, Blaupunkt makes one (actually I think there's is 5 disc), and probably someone else by now. You guys need to stop shopping at Crutchfield and go to real stereo stores!

Doesn't that Nissan 6 disk single din require a Nissan brand cassette single DIN radio to run? So if you have an aftermarket or just a single CD (by nissan) in your car now it will not work with that 6 disk changer din unit for $199. I saw one on e-bay for $165.

Ah hem...They're not suppose to know! :P

Yeah, I still expect to do the run this weekend and we can talk about your options. You must know now though that the systems I mention are expensive. You can check out my system, or atleast the changer this weekend. The single player died on our last outing.

BTW, of those I mentioned, I truly believe the Eclipse is the best. They also have a single DIN tuner and 6 disc changer combination, so you could (money permitting!) add another 6 disc changer and have 12 discs up front! That was my original plan, but my budget wouldn't allow it.
