Anyone have any of the DirectTV sports packages? I’ve been thinking of getting the new Superfan one (link: www.heybuttercup.com ). Anyone have it? How is it?

Awesome. But Directv customer service SUCKS!!!
They would not be in business were it not for the NFL package.

We've had countless reschedules, lost programming and more misinformation than I thought humanly possible.

But damn, I love the NFL...and the multiple game screen views, red zone and HD ROCK!

Providing solely the NFL network when a subscriber wants live games is like providing a picture of water to a man dying of thirst.

I have Sunday Ticket only. The Superfan thing isn't worth it to me.

Unlike others here, I really haven't had significant problems with DirecTV.

I've had directv for like 3 years without problems, but never got sundayticket or superfan. You can't watch the games in HD without superfan, is that right?

Yep, gotta have Superfan to get HD live games.

I think some of the varied +/- cutomer service is due to the fact that:

1. DTV outsources much of its on-site work in Denver. Maybe they don't in some locales?

2. With customer service, I either have a bonehead, or someone who actually knows and gives a crap. I've found this to be a 7:3 ratio.

Well, I just tried calling them to ask a question and spent so long on hold I gave up. So I'll ask it here: How does the audio for the 8 games on 1 screen work. Is it silent, or a mix, or what?

on the first channel it is like a background music, on the second channel it is one of the games broadcast.

that is how mine is.

Same here, Chumpmann.
On that second channel, if you have an "interactive" receiver, you can scroll thru all of the games with audio for each one.

IF you have an "interactive" receiver. Whatever that means. I don't think they really know what it means.

I would like to do that, I doubt I have an "interactive" reciever though.

I dont even use the satellite remote, it is all through the TiVo remote...

NFL ticket is the only reason I still have satellite. I do not have the "Superfan", as it is just not worth the extra cash for me.

Yeah, it's worth it for me cuz I'm playing fantasy football and I think I'll do better if I can watch more of the games. I just ordered it today. Can't wait for that redzone channel.

I havent really used the Red Zone channel, sometimes I know when a team is in the redzone, I go there, just to see a different game with a team kicking off or something.

I watch the mix channel and then another game on split screen(gotta love wide screen!)

On the mix channel you can tell when a team gets into the redzone, and then I just flip to that game for a while.

Ahhh.... smart. This is what I'll try next week. Yeah, I totally got lost in all the menus/channels this weekend. I loved having the games in HD, but it'll take me a while to figure out what's where. So it was nice to have that redzone channel cuz they just did all the work for me.
