Hey All,
Is anyone else here watching the Ryder Cup? It's my second favorite tournament, right behind The Masters.
I love the competitive nature, the even teams, and the fact that the worlds best golfers take it as an honor to make the team, instead of bitching about how they don't get paid for it like just about every other sport that attempts "for the love of the game" tournaments. I also love the rarity of it, since it's only played every other year.
So far our American team has been playing pretty poorly. The big guns of Woods and Mickelson are playing aweful compared to how they hand these Englishmen their hats in regular tournaments. I don't understand how Tiger can be below .500 in ANY match play setup, but he is here - both this year and for his career. Things aren't looking too good for the American team. Can't help but root for Darren Clarke though, whos wife passed from cancer only 5 weeks ago.
On the bright side though, this Ryder Cup is being broadcast in high definition for the first time. It's absolutely beautiful- the green contours are so much more apparent. No more relying on the announcers to tell you which way the putt breaks. Once you watch golf in high def, there's no going back to standard definition.
Go USA!!!!!
