Yeah but the bottom of a rear diff doesnt need protecting! It's 1/2" thick cast STEEL. It's stronger than a skid plate already.
You could argue that a little xtra protection "can't hurt" but it does. It eats ground clearance at the worst possible spot and protects something that doesnt break.
The whole concept of a diff skid just makes absolutely no sense to me.
