I just did a BL on my '01 and I am in the process of looking for a shop to fab out some brackets or rebuild the mounting to accommodate the gap left from the lift. Question is, about how much should this cost. One local shop specializing in building toyota rigs gave me a rough quote of $200. Just curious what a decent benchmark price would be. Thanks guys.

That sounds spot on. I've talked to two shops regarding relocating my Shrock after 2" BL and tey both quoted me $200. This includes powdercoating for the pieces that are going to be welded on the the bumper to raise it up and also drilling additional mounting holes in the frame (to releve leverage stress) and welding a support bracket between the frame horns as well.

i've actually just been thinking about this. i want to do a BL this summer but was worried about the gap. $200 to relocate it is a bit more than i was expecting. i think there's an old thread on nissanoffroad if you need some ideas

Show up once in a while wink , or just stay current on the AZXC board and you'll see we have a professional welder/fabricator at our disposal making bombproof sliders, bumpers, lightbars, and even roofracks. Yes, he even makes relocation brackets for BL bumpers. Look through "parts/acces" for "relocation brackets" or "body lift bumper". [ThumbsUp]

Ryan and I just redrilled the holes up 2". We then bolted ALL the way through the frame. The top hole on each side did not have alot of metal so we found some metal tube that was the same size as the bolt then cut out the frame to weld in the tube sections. To say the least it is much stronger than the stock mounts. Oh and all the bolts were grade 9 from Fastenal.

I wish I knew someone with a shop and a welder. I would have been bribing them with food and beer a wlong time ago.

I PM'd him on his MYSPACE account and have yet to hear back. You KNOW I would hit the local X spots first.
