I finally got my jim wolf pop chrager and i made a heat sheild for it today. Its made out of an old stainless steel shelf that has been laying around for years. Its not finished yet...i still need to find some rubber tubing to put around all the edges and some foam for the open edges and top so i can seal it with the hood. The cuts arent perfect because i simply didnt have the right tools (you can see my super high tech sheet metal bender in one of the pics). In the pics its just sitting in the engine bay and its not screwed together or anything. Here are some pics of the production and semi final product...Tell me what you guys think!

Oh...and this thing sounds incredible. the engine sounds really nice, deep, and throaty. I also removed the resonator that comes off of the intake tube. Basically i have what k&n sells for $100 instead of $250 smile

and i am going to try and use some heat reflective tape to help with keeping heat out..

Very nice! [ThumbsUp] Is your filter oiled yet? I thought it's supposed to look red (from the oil), not blue.

Some air filters use a different colored oil. K&N, airraid etc use a red oil, this one obviously used a blue oil. The tint is only to help you see where you've already oiled the filter.

From the instalation instructions it says "This filter is pre-oiled and ready for service. To re-service the filter, use a cotton gauze filter cleaning and oil kit normally
found at motorcycle and performance shops."
and then i looked on their website and the oil that jim wolf uses gives a blue tint.

i guess its just K&n's oil that is red
