Hey guys I have an 03 X and I would like to remove the fender resonator. I searched a little bit and found the post with picutres but I was not sure what I am looking at. It seems to me that those picutres were from an earlier X. I didn't think it would be to different but could someone give me instructions and some detailed picutres of how to remove the fender resonator. Thanks.

to be honest the one in the fender (looks like a giant gernade) is a bitch to get out. There is a screw behind the ABS for the brakes that has to be removed to get the resonater out. Otherwise the ones in the engine comparment near the air box are easy. But to be honest with you when I did this it really didn't do anything, no performance gain, not louder, nothing just time spending wrenching and then I dropped a damn socket into the engine that ended up in a low control arm and made an annoying rattle till I got it out.

I left that last bolt on and cut off the corner. A lot easier...same results.

You have to remove the plastic mud flap and the fender liner...a few screws and some push pins and then you can look up there and see the bolts that hold on the resonator. Less than a half hours work, if you just cut the upper right hand plastic corner.
