Thanks but that article is ancient. Plus, it is a Rancho lift that is the shittiest lift you can get for the Xterra.

Skaggs is alright, but may be thinking of the Gen1 Rancho lifts, which are widely recognized as inferior to others available. From what I know, there's not much feedback yet, posi or neg, on Gen2 Rancho lifts.. smile

LOL. I just realized the review is indeed about the '01 stuff. I quickly presumed it must've been about Gen2 junk as no one here, except OP, would even care about that lift. My bad.

Yeah - a bunch of people heard that Rancho came out with a lift way back then...and even though it was the ONLY lift available, decided to bad mouth it as part of a club dedicated to avoiding the development of mods for the X.

Then to make sure that no one else got one, the club spent countless hours sabotaging any mention of a new lift for the X.

When Calmini, and then SLR, and then AC came out with lift kits finally...for some bizarre reason...no one wanted to join a club to say how they sucked, despite how much fun it was to drive around at stock height and NOT get a Rancho lift, and just say how it sucked...

So they just got the other lift kits.

Apparently, these people wanted more wheel travel than less than stock...and the other 1/2" of lift missing from the Rancho kit, etc.

Go figure.

Your right, I don't have one. Mabey I should have said that it is the least prefered lift for the Gen1 X.

I think the biggest issue with the Rancho kit that turned people away from it was the kit not having upgraded torsions. So later when other kits came out, it was quickly rated as inferior.

I actually bought a set of rancho arms with the intent to install them but ended up selling them due to getting my body lift. However though, they are some pretty heavy duty stuff and looked quite nice.
