axle splines

does anybody know if all the 1st gen. x's had 33 spline axles? i am looking to change my '03 v6 4x4's open diff with 4.90's to a lsd. The Lsd diff is out of an '01 and had 4.63's on it. Just want to make sure they use the same axles and didn't change things between years.

33  I guess you are replacing the front diff gears too...?

Yes.
All WD22 chassis xterra's had 33 spline axles.

You know you can just take the 4.90 ring gear off your open carrier and put it on the 4.63 LSD carrier, right?

Really? huh, never thought about that..on the Jeeps, the cut off was 4.6 for the next carrier and you couldn't do that. Good info. That means you can take ANY X ring gear, and swap it into ANY X carrier?

That means you can take ANY X ring gear, and swap it into ANY X carrier?As far as I know, but hey, I could be mistaken. When I ordered my ARB for the rear there was no question of what R&P I was running. And the LSD carrier I have sitting in Cyclemut's bay at work should work for the 4.63s or the 4.90s or the 5.13s. Also, as far as I can recall, the X came with the 4.63s or the 4.90s and that's it. Correct away if I'm wrong
