Does anyone have any ideas for a light bar that can flip downward in case of low clearances/highway use? I'd love to have lights on the roof but am curious about purchasing/possibly making one that can flip down in to the storage basket on my '03 XE. Any photos or ideas? Thanks guys

Tried to copy and paste a link to an answer on this same exact question, but doesn't work for some reason. Do a search for "roof lights" on this forum. Go to page 5 and find the thread on "light size." There's a great example from someone who did a great at home fabrication job that includes an easy to follow schematic.

Mine's now several years old and still working well. I worked out the math to attach a linear actuator to it for electrically powered movement but decided that the once or twice a month up and down wasn't worth it.

Whoo hooo - two posts!

This is the 02-04 version, almost finished with the 00-01 version which looks the same but the different roof rack style forced a whole other weld fixture.

The highest point of the Lo Pro Light cage is less then an inch higher then the highest point of the stock roof rack.
No need to retract, always low profile even while on.
