i posted that in the wrong place so heres the post with one reply..

before people bash me..i searched and i really couldnt find anything..there used to be tons of thread buts i cant find them! Well my question is whats the best size pipe for a new exhaust? 2.5? and what are some good muffler choices? i hear the flowmaster 40 series is not to loud which is what i want. what are some other choices? Or if no one wants to answer..can you direct me to the threads that already have this info?

2.5 works the best
flowmaster 40 series is usualy what people get, but you can also go with a Flowmaster Super 40 or 44.
MagnaFlow also has a few good ones out there but i dont know much about them.

what intake do most of you prefer? the volant or the k&n? I heard the k&n doesnt really get too much cold air and can get dirty very easily unlike the volant wich is boxed in...

NISMO catback can't be beat....ebay this item number: 330193756469. I have bought two and know of one more from this guy, install great, sound great. Comes with the Ypipe, gaskets. He also stands by them. The weld on one muffler blew out and he sent another muffler no charge.

Curious, what does that have to do with it?

Has NISMO on the tailpiece lazer etched, Nismo part numbers on the components, Nisan part numbered plastic bagged gaskets.......now if it is a knock off or not I don't know. I can tell you that the Stainless pipes are not the highest grade of stainless, they have lightly surface rusted. The muffler has not, but it is a better quality of stainless. Other than that it looks great and sounds great, best of all it comes with a larger dia crossover ypipe.

I think you already came up with an answer to your question. I would get the volant if I were you, thats what I have. I am about to get a snorkel in the next month or so and the volant will work perfectly with it.

I have a 2 1/2 inch pipe with a Magnaflow stainless steel muffler. Nice sounding; but not loud like a Flowmaster.

No noticable 'extra' power. No noticable increase in mpg either.

I was looking at the Nismo Cat-Back system on AC's website. its on sale now for a great price for all you get... but it says it is only for a 2003-2004. Does any one know if it would work for a 2001. I would think the pipes would all be the same for these years but im not sure... Does any one know if they are? Thanks.

Still debatable on authenticity and whether or not these really are stainless steel. I have doubts on mine, which i bought last year.

Im still a little worried it isn't going to fit properly, the hangers look a little different. Was it hard to put on or was it quick and easy?

This seems like a lot better upgrade than thoes other cause it also replaces the Y-pipe.

Have had mine for two years...one on a Fronty, one on a Xterra. We get salt and all and the pipes have is surface rust....no scaling off like plain steel pipes. Remember there are different grades of stainless, I suspect the best grade would be hard to bend. The muffler on the other hand is as shiney as the day I put it on. Legit or not I am happy with them, especially since the price was right, they come with the ypipe and ALL the correct Nissan gaskets and they bolted up with a very minimal effort. I do know the guy stands behind them...I know of another one on a Xterra, the seam on the muffler split out....he sent a brand new muffler at no charge.

i'll have to agree with bru, the install was painless, the gaskets were all OEM and everything fit perfectly. When I asked the seller to verify that they were nismo exhausts, he wouldn't for the life of him admit to a brand for some reason and you can see on the description he doesn't brand them, yet other nismo items he will.

Just seemed weird, plus he must have sold over a hundred of them since i bought mine a year ago. All the nissan/nismo labelling on the box were scratched out as well. Either they're stolen or he's mass producing replicas. Regardless, it's true you can't beat the price.

Sounds good.......I forgot about the box. The first one I got had the NISMO logo on it. The second one it was blacked out. Had some NISMO plush floor mats in the second one as well, they were nice.

I asked if it is was smog legal and was told it is and that it is a genuine Nissan system. I submitted my best price on Sunday and unpacked the box this afternoon. Sweet! If it weren't for the fact that its 116 degrees outside I'd be bolting it on right now.
