Looks like they've upgraded their site again. Pretty easy to use, nowadays. Here's my latest result: I seem to get the fastest results with the Chicago and the Atlanta servers. Worst one I got was Madrid, Spain, at only about 1mbps download and 347kbps upload. I was wondering if Insight has upgraded my account to the 10mbps, like they were supposed to. Guess the results from Chicago pretty much confirm it. Though, my average after testing a lot of different servers around the country is around 7.9mbps, so that's still not too shabby for an average. In their percentages, I'm at 93% faster than all global connections tested, and 88% faster than USA connections. I want to see someone's results that has the newer Fiber connections. That's coming to Louisville in the near future, and I want to see if it'll really be worth the switch.

I don't know what we have exactly, but my entire campus of 15,000 students has Wifi so it must be fairly powerful
At home though Hawk we have comcast cable internet, so I am going to have dad run a test later to see what kind of speed I get at back in Chi-Town

Could be worse. At least the days of 14.4 modems are gone...well for most of us.

Alpine, I'm not positive, but I think it'd be faster to surf the web from a cell phone. ![[Too much XOC]](graemlins/dead.gif)

This is from my work: Strange how the download speed is so slow, but the upload is pretty blazing. Compared to my house, anyways.

Wow...and I just got done making my boss feel good for NOT increasing our speed...of course we have about 4 people accessing a huge Quickbooks file via our network at the moment, slowing out LAN speeds way down. That is from our Firewall server.

Our downloads at work crawl along to the 10 - 15% mark and then are suddenly completed as the remainder of the buffered file is delivered to the client. Might be similar with your setup.

Verizon FIOS here in Pittsburgh PA. Jorge, I cannot believe your getting those speeds from Comcast Cable. The best we get here from them is about 6000 down and 512 up.

Comcast 8meg service from Colorado Springs The problem with this test is that it's so quick, Comcast's PowerBoost is still helping and as such it gives an inaccurate download speed. Testmy.net gives a more accurate actual download speed using their SmarTest: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Download Connection is:: 10008 Kbps about 10 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 1222 kB/s Tested From:: http://testmy.net/ (Server 1) Test Time:: 2007/04/28 - 7:12pm Bottom Line:: 175X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 0.84 sec Tested from a 12160 kB file and took 9.953 seconds to complete Download Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 77.42 % faster than the average for host (comcast.net) D-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-TVN2CBWQD User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 [!] Not as flashy, but it does the job
