I have a 2002 SE v6 automatic, right now it is completely stock with the exception of the hidden hitch to pull my boat. I was wondering if someone could suggest a few starter upgrades. I was thinking of getting the K&N mentioned in another thread

http://www.knfilterchargers.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=57-6005

Would this be a good place to start? I would like a little more horsepower. Was also thinking of a new exhaust. Just looking for a decent jump off point. Thanks in advance.

Intake and exhaust are the basic starting points. The easier and more an engine can breath the better it will perform.

Personally, I have the Volant intake and Gibson exhaust. The Volnt is a sealed box system with a K&N cone filter inside the box. Looks great and more stock then a pipe and exposed filter.

I chose the Gibson becasue I didn't want a lot of cabin resonance. It's only a little louder then stock at idle but comes o life when you step on it.

Hope this helps

Another great upgrade for less than 100 bucks is a Throttle Body Spacer by Poweraide. It gives that little extra that helps. I've got AEM intake and Flowmaster exhaust, I put the spacer in and could tell a difference big time! Worth the money and the 20 minutes installing it.

I would seriously research the TBS before you add one Kevdx. Most people didn't like it or are annoyed by the whistling sound it makes. Common aftermarket bolt ons include but are not limited to intake, exhaust, computer upgrades, ignition, synthetics, etc. If you want to spend a lot of money go for a supercharger.

Skip the TB spacer .... waste of time and money.
Proven time and time again!

electric fans would also free up some power since they're not powered by the crank
