Last night was a perfect example of milestones before roids took over the game. Frank Thomas was my idol growing up and I was glad to see him hit #500. He did it legitimately and I love how he made that a point in his interview after the game:
"This means a lot to me because I did it
the right way and I've busted my butt since college. I always worked hard in that weight room to be strong. I'm a big guy and I've been blessed with this talent," he said.
That was easily a shot at the recent players to do it, except Griffey.
Next was Biggio getting 3000 hits. People outside of Houston probably don't get to appreciate what this guy does for the game. If you were a fan of Pete Rose's hustling, you have to be a fan Biggio. No one plays the game harder and it was a magically night for him. 5 freakin' hits!

He tried to get the trademark hustling double for #3000, but fell short. But he came back strong in the 11th by getting a 2-out infield single with the game on the line to start the comeback rally. Once again, his hustling made that possible. BTW, last night's game was one of the best "meaningless" games I've ever seen.
Anyway, great night for two future Hall of Famer's.
