Hello, everyone! I'm a new user here and was hoping I could get some help with an A/C issue I'm having. I've got a 2001 Xterra that will only blow cold on occasion. The lights for the A/C on the panel come on and the blower seems to be working, but most of the time it's warm air. I went out and bought one of the recharge kits and when I used the gauge to check the pressure, it was at 150psi...three times what the can recommended. What would cause such high pressure on this port? I'd consider myself to be pretty handy with cars, but I've never tackled anything dealing with the A/C. Any suggestions or comments? Thanks for taking the time to read this and I would appreciate any feedback given!

Having played around with my ac if the pressure is high and there is no cold air i would think the compressor is not running.

Same boat as you. AC is charged. The compressor does not always come on. When compressor kicks in she blows cold or as cold as you expect a 11yo compressor to blow. I am leaning towards a bad connection on the compressor due to the fact that I had the Timing belt changed this summer. I am hoping that the mech knocked something loss.

This is simple, but have you check your fuses?

I know the blower works, but I do not know if the compressor is on a separate fuse.
