Ok, lately I've noticed that on changing road surfaces, or sometimes under braking it feels like the front end is floating around a bit, I was thinking it was a ball joint, but after crawling under it appears as though they are all tight yet. From underneath it looked as if both front tires moved together and the same. I am wondering if maybe I could be getting that much play in the steering box itself? again, its not extreme, but enough to feel when driving. The steering box was leaking often at the beginning of the summer, but has since stopped after adding some lucas. I am going to get another person to sit and turn the steering wheel for me as I check underneath again to see if maybe I can find something that way, just wondering if anyone has delt with it, what to look for?

Air pressure is good. and does not feel like alignment problem.

Thanks

You can also rebuild your gear box pretty cheaply, I am starting to look for a replacement that would be an up grade, because the new ones from Nissan are freakishly expencive.

There's an adjustment screw on the power steering box...you can tighten up the steering with that first, and see if it works.

If taking up the play with the adjustment screw does it for you...you can call it a day.

There are also rebuild kits you can use to refresh the box.

I have a write up somewhere if needed.
