Hey all,
My '01 X is reporting P0705 and won't shift into 4th/OD. I'm working through the troubleshooting steps in the service manual that begin on AT-98, but I've run into a few snags.
The first step (without a Consult-II) is to check voltage between ground and several of the TCM terminals. I do get voltage with the selector in each position, but it's not always ~12v. I'm reading the chart as B = *any* voltage, 0 no voltage. Is this correct, or should I have ~12v?
AT-103 says to check terminals 1-2 and 3-9 according to the chart. I found the plug with 3-9 (it's the 3rd from the top of 4 plugs mounted vertically near the relay box on the passenger side of the engine compartment). I can't, however, find the plug with terminals 1-2. The diagram on AT-130 indicates it should be paired with the 3-9 plug, but I'm at a loss. Anyone know where to find this bugger?
How the heck do I perform TCM Input/Output inspection as per AT-102 (Step 3)? AT-98 has a chart that says to check voltage between 25/48 and the others in various situations, but some of those situations include driving the vehicle at up to 30mph. Maybe it's me, but it seems rather challenging to hold voltmeter probes to two terminals on the TCM that's *under the dash* while driving at *any speed*, let alone 30mph.
Or is TCM I/O inspection done from a Consult-II reader?
Lastly, how do I find the PNP itself? Do I get to it from underneath the X, or from the cabin (after exposing selector)? I put it up on jack stands and took a look, but I couldn't see anything that looks remotely like the PNP in the pics.
Thanks for the help.
