I have had this problem for a while and it's finally getting to the point I can't stand it no more. My headlights have this type of fog or condensation problem that I can't seem to fix. It looks like if I could just take the headlight off and swipe them it would solve the problem.

I had the Xterra detailed with the hopes they might solve that for me, but the guy said they charge and additional $100 for the headlight cleaning. The price seemed a bit steep. Does anyone have instructions on how to remove the plastic cover or glass of the headlight to wipe the inside of?

Any help is greatly appreciated...

there is no way to take the front of the glass off. Are you looking to polish the outside of the lense, or really clean the inside?

Untill you have filled the entire thing with mud, you will have no idea how big of a pain in the ass it is to get cleaned out.

I wound up removing the light from the back. and the lowest turn signal, and run a hose through it for about 9 hours. There is still dried up mud in there, but at least it works.

You can remove the headlight assembly -- I did it when I filled mine up with muddy water. It is a pain in the a$$, with it being held in place at a bunch of locations. I can't describe how to do it other than you take off not just the lens portion but the plastic trim that surrounds it. I do recall there are several clip that attach to the top cross piece in front of the radiator. Even if you remove it, you cannot detached the lens from the reflector housing. But can hose it our real good and let it air dry well before you reassemble it.

If it is simply a matter of moist air being trapped inside, the lens itself is plastic. It is possible to take a small needle, heat it up, and pierce the plastic lens low where it is not visible. This will all for some minimal exchange of air. However, this may not be legal in all states.
