anyone ever swapped out for a higher geared rear end for more speed?
is that even possible?
Well, it can be possible as a higher geared rear end gives more speed than lower gearing.
Lower Gearing is for better power/acceleration, like 1st gear on a 10 speed bike.....
And Higher Gearing is for reducing your RPM at high speed, like 10th speed on that 10 speed bike.
So, sure, its possible...depending on what you started with.
If you started with 4.9's, you could go to 4.6's for example, and reduce hwy rpm....
if engine redline is your limiting factor in getting to top speed.
Of course, given the brick-like aerodynamics of the X, etc...the redline might
NOT be what is limiting your speed.
MOST of us go the other way with gearing, going to LOWER GEARS, to get more power at lower speeds, especially off road where you want your power down low in speed, to crawl along with enough torque to climb things...
So, what's your RPM at your current top speed?
