Got your attention, didn't it? For all the individual Xterra clubs out there, I'm just curious, how many members do you have in your club? This includes members that may not necessarily be local (for example some of you, like RedX, Patz, Powerguy, etc are SOXC members now, but not local, but we still count you as a member.) No reason for the question other than just pure curiosity... SOXC membership right now is at 480 members (about 25% are not local)

Originally posted by superjens: Yeah, but how many actively go wheeling with the club? That's something we've discussed amongst some of our members too. This is the way that I look at our club... We (SOXC) are not just an *offroading* club. Sure lots of us love wheeling and get out very regularly. I look at us as more of a social club, with the common denominator being our love and enthusiasm for the Xterra. However, it is our members that make our club what it is, not just the fact that we drive Xterras (well, most of us anyway.) We also have some members that are local, yet never come out to events or wheel, but are very active and provide lots of useful info and help online. Other activities that we do include: - regular (1-2 times a week sometimes) coffee meets - going to movies/pubs to socialize - camping, biking, canoeing, etc, etc - trail/camp area cleanup - charity The list goes on and on... Anyway, that's just my $0.02. Just because you are an Xterra club doesn't mean that you have to be an offroader...

Not all of them are active.

Originally posted by ClaptoVaughn: Regardless, if you ever get close to that number of people for an offroad meet...take pics please. Hehehe... that'd be something to see wouldn't it? SOXC has been growing very quickly. We are at the point now where we try and limit the number of trucks on any given run because we sometimes end up with upwars of 20+ trucks that all signup for a Sat trail run. We try to keep our trail group sizes on any one trail at any one time down to no more than 10-12 trucks at once on the same trail. This helps keep the pace from becoming too slow and also helps not ruffle too many feathers in regards to locals (municipalities) in the trail areas as well as the *powers that be* (Ministry of Natural Resources, etc.) It just results in less impact both on the trail as well as what is perceived. We have had runs in the past though with up to 30 trucks, although it makes for slow moving on the trail! As far as other activities, we usually get great turnouts. For coffee meets we always end up with anywhere from 5-6 up to 19-30 trucks. Gets lots of stares when people pull into a Tim Hortons and we have the entire far end of the parking lot taken over! Camping and stuff we always get great turnouts as well. One of our last trips we had this year (our annual SOXC "Adventure Weekend" we had 27 trucks and about 40 people out for the weekend. We also have an annual Xmas party. We just get together for Dinner at a restaurant, do a member anonymous gift exchange, and get everyone to bring childrens toys that we donate to Xmas toy drives. Last year we had about 30 people, this year we expect to have around 40+. I guess what it all comes down to IMHO is that in the end it is the Xterra that brought us all together, but the members that keep everyone around. We have a very easy going, laid back, helpful bunch who just happen to all get along pretty damn well. It's been 4 years and we're still like a suburb of Mr Rogers Neighborhood!

SXFC currently has 50 Active members and 4 trial members (we have a 30 day trial membership before you have to pay your dues). At our last event we had 25 vehicles in attendance out of at the time 47 active members.

17 trucks from a run in the George Washington National Forest (Harrisonburg, VA) in September. 17 vehicles (12 X's, 2 Frontier's, 1 Jeep, 1 Explorer, 1 F-150, 1 partridge in a pear tree). VAXC has 90 registered members, but I reckon only about half of them are "active", and only about 25 actually participate in regular events/discussions.

As a fellow SCCX member--Wolfman stated above, there are about 300 registered members but only less than 100 are actually active.
