New to the forum. I want to know if anyone has shutoff the daytime running lights. I have seen 2004 xterras with them off. How is this done?

Noobie here with 08 off-road. Love my new xterra but was really surprised to find that it didn't have the automatic on feature. I sold two 03 fords (escape and sport trac) both of which had this feature. As a result I got lazy/spoiled and am finding it hard to adjust to having to manually turn the lights on - especially since some of the dash lights come on full-time when you start the car. Does anyone know if there is a reasonable retrofit that would turn the lights on at dusk?
