Had a squeak coming from the front passenger dash area on my early 2005 S 4X2. Squeak was only evident between 35 and 45 mph and only when the air conditioner had been on for 5 minutes or so. After exausting my limited squeak eradication talents, I took the X to ELKINS Nissan in Shreveport, LA. They spent 2 days and many man hours disassembling and trouble-shooting the problem. They found a body seam behind the AC evaporator which had not been sealed at the factory, so it was metal to metal. Was a good find on their part. First time I've heard of this problem.

kudos to the dealer... more and more it seems dealers are "unable to reproduce complaint". I had an issue with brake squeal which was loud enough that other motorists would look over at lights. First dealer tech and service manager swore they couldn't hear it-which was a very surreal test ride with them claiming it was from another car at every light even though the sound was the same and remarkably was only heard when I applied my brakes. Second dealer immediately found front rotors out of spec and remedied the situation with no fuss.
