So I bumped a curb... hard ... the other day with my truck. Rear left tire and rim took the brunt of the damage, and now the rim's bent.
I stuck the spare on and noticed it's turning crooked too. Did I bend my axle?? or could it just be the wheel hub? bearing damaged maybe? No weird sounds.. turns just fine... you guys are the experts out there, any info for me?
Thanks!

yes, pix would help, and more info, when you say its turning crooked, does that mean it has a wobble when turning, or if you stand behind the truck when its parked, can you see the tire isnt setting straight up and down? Jack the rear end off the ground and see if you have any movement with the weight off the tire.

Well I did bend the axle...
I used a dial indicator on the rear axle with the wheel removed ofcourse.. right side is almost perfect but left side is about 13 degrees out of circle. Sucks..
I removed the axle, 4 bolts and it pulls right out... and ordered a new axle and bearing, seal etc from Nissan in town.
I can't remove the axle shaft from the wheel hub, need a special puller or a press... so I'll prob have to get nissan or someone to do it for me.. but atleast I saved some labor on removing it all.
If anyone has any more tips or info lemme know what I've gotten myself into lol

Yup... Slide on some snow/ice and lost the back end. Bumped the curb pretty hard, I was shocked to see no damaged at first - other than the scratched up rim.
Hey since I gotta replace the axle and I got it all apart... should I change my rear differential fluid too?? I can see the drain plug but where do I fill it from?

The drain is on the bottom of the diff. the fill is on the back of the diff.

remove the fill plug before you do the drain.

yeah, a sidways hit like that packs a lot of force. If it were me, I would change the fluid while I was there.

Ya I got it all back together!! woo hoo... wheel turns in a perfect circle now... The rear seal was a pain in the ass to remove without chewing up the axle housing... turns out theres a special tool for it - cost $8.... doh!
Anyways, got it all together and been driving it around but I feel like I got some weird vibration someplace... thinking I might get all my wheels balanced, and the alignment checked out???

I have those sticky weights on the inside of my rims instead of the regular weights that go on the lip of the rims - wonder if i might've lost one somewhere when i hit??
