I have a 2012 XTerra X and want to change tires from the stock 265 70 16's to 265 75 16's from a Pro 4X (which are taller). How can I get my speedometer and odometer to read accurately with the new tires? Is there a gear in the gauge cluster or the trans that I can change?

The dealer can do that for you with the computer they use to set parameters...as you want a stock size tire.

I believe the dealer's set-up can go up to a 285/75/16, which is a bit larger than stock, and, the size most guys upgrade to if they are bothering to upsize.

Thanks TJ, I really appreciate the reply. Some of the guys over on thenewx.org were saying that the trucks are normally calibrated for the Pro 4X tires (265 75's), and are actually a couple MPH off with the 265 70's (and other sizes). Good to know there is some wiggle room with programming though, for the next time I'm tire shopping.
