I think they started using them in 2002 or something like that. I have a question. here goes:
I upgraded my old style flat air dam to the new style because of vibration issues. I just tried to put the roof basket in for the first time since then. When I put it in, it seemed to push up on the air dam in the middle because there is a rubber block mounted on the front center of the basket. It used to give the center of the dam support on the old flimsy style. My question is, do the new style airdam equipped trucks have a rubber block glued on the front center of the roof basket or is this block on the earlier designs? In other words should I rip it off so it does not push up on the air dam or is it supposed to be there? Thanks in advance!

If I recall correctly, the rubber block on my '02 is on the air dam itself, not the basket.

I just went out and checked quickly, and it looks like the rubber piece is part of the basket. Either way, it's there though so I would leave yours on

Just to make sure. You have a late model 2002 with the air dam that wraps around to the sides of the roof rack, not the ones that are just a flat flimsy piece between the roof rack bars in the front of the vehichle? and if you ever took the roof basket off, did it push up on the air dam about 1/4" for it to fit? thanks again.

Nevermind, I just saw a 2002 in a parking lot, and it had the same rubber bumper on the basket. I am just surprised that they force it in like that. Unless the visor just sagged from sitting without the basket supporting it. Thanks anyway.
