Don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but I discovered a very distinct high pitched rattling or rapid clicking noise, that sounded like it came from the engine compartment when accelerating. Though I could rarely produce this noise except when in drive and on the gas at moderate RPM's, I finally found the culprit. There is a protective guard over the fore exaust pipe, (directly under the driver's seat, before it reaches the muffler.) that had been smushed up against the pipe, causing the noise. FYI, you might check this if you got a funny noise like this.
