Did mine thus weekend with Moog. Curious how far the SHOULD stick out, on top with the nut. I tightened them until they were pretty much flush with the top of the nut and I couldn't turn it any more. But feeling underneath the LCA, there is still some space and I can't remember if there was a lip or something to stop it at a certain point.

I don't have it in front of me, but I THINK it was flush.

The exact length of the new ball joint of course could change that position...but I think I also used Moogs.

Hopefully you didn't seat it with a burr or a spec of detritus keeping it from going all the way down, etc.
